Copy & Brand Strategy Intern

Summer 2026 Internship

New York or Remote (EST preferred)

Contract rate: $20/hr

About the Role

As a Copy & Brand Strategy Intern at Little Plains, you’ll work at the intersection of language, strategy, and design - helping shape the foundations of how brands come to life.

This role sits within our brand and copy teams, where storytelling extends beyond words into systems, interfaces, and interaction. You’ll collaborate with strategists, designers, and creatives to develop brand narratives, messaging frameworks, and content that feel cohesive, intentional, and alive in execution.

About Little Plains

Little Plains is a modern brand and product studio. We work primarily with early-stage companies, often from pre-launch through Series A, at moments where clarity, speed, and conviction matter most. Our partners are founders and small senior teams building new products, categories, and narratives under real constraints.

We operate as an embedded creative partner rather than a traditional digital agency, building brand, product, and go-to-market work into cohesive systems that can scale as companies grow. Our work spans healthcare, biotech, SaaS, and consumer products.

What You Will Do

Day to day, you will:

  • Support the development of brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and voice
  • Contribute to naming, taglines, and foundational brand language
  • Assist in writing and refining copy across web and product
  • Help translate strategic ideas into clear, compelling narratives
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure language and visual systems feel cohesive
  • Participate in research, audits, and competitive analysis
  • Contribute to internal documents, decks, and storytelling frameworks

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field
  • Strong writing skills with sensitivity to tone, voice, and structure
  • A portfolio or writing samples demonstrating clarity of thinking and craft
  • Interest in brand strategy, positioning, and narrative development
  • Curiosity about how language interacts with design, product, and user experience
  • A futurist’s attitude towards exploring new tools in AI and beyond
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
  • Thoughtful, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Must have access to your own laptop for the duration of the internship
  • Must be available from June 2026 - August 2026; 20 hours per week

What We're Looking For

Someone who understands that writing is thinking.

You should be curious about:

  • How brands define what they say (and what they don’t)
  • How language shapes perception, behavior, and experience
  • How messaging systems scale across touchpoints
  • How to scale your unique intuition and taste through use of AI

You don’t need to have formal strategy experience, but you should be intentional, perceptive, and open in how you approach ideas.

What You'll Gain

  • Exposure to real brand and product work across industries
  • Experience building messaging systems, not just one-off copy
  • Insight into how strategy, design, and storytelling work together
  • Mentorship and feedback from strategists and creatives
  • A deeper understanding of how brands are built from the inside out

What to Submit

  • Resume or LinkedIn profile
  • Writing samples or portfolio (required)
  • A short note on how you approach writing and why Little Plains
